Eleven months with you! It is so hard to believe that in a few short weeks we will be celebrating your first birthday! This has been a huge month of milestones for you! You already seem like such a big boy compared to only a short time ago. You started pulling up to stand on everything this month. You first started around 44 weeks and as soon as you did that it was off the the races, you can pull up and walk along the couch now, the wall, the kitchen cabinets, and the bath tub. Anywhere really. Your crawling is getting faster and faster too! I know its only a matter of time before you can walk on your own! At the prodding of your teacher we finally expanded your diet this month. You’re eating meat, beans, noodles, and pretty much all the fruits and veggies now. Within a few days of starting to eat more food, you decided you were done with breastfeeding. At 45 weeks you nursed on Wednesday morning before school, and then on Thursday you were all done, wouldn’t hear of it. I was glad to be done if I’m being honest (you have eight teeth!), but I was more happy that it was your decision and it really wasn’t an issue at all! Your eating SO much food now! It is shocking to your Dad and I how much you can eat at a meal. You’re taking less and less milk from a bottle and have even dropped a bottle fed this month. We celebrated your first Halloween. You were the cutest avocado if I do say so! Dadima bought your costume since it’s still your favorite food it just seemed perfect to her. Mom and Dad went away on long weekend vacation to the mountains and you stayed home for a few nights with Dadima and Poppa Bob. We are so thankful that they have been so helpful and love being with you! You had a little sleep set back at the beginning of the month, but the last few weeks you have been doing great, sleeping until 7:30 or 8:00 in the morning. We are still working on naps, you’ve been taking a long nap at school, but so far won’t do that at home. You are talking more and more now and are a waving man! You wave at everyone we come across. On your 11 month birthday you surprised us by taking off up the stairs, you made it all the way up on your first try without any help! You are turning into a little boy right before our eyes and it is such a joy to watch! You are the sweetest boy and we love you so! We love you big little one!

Seven months with you! What a joy! You continue to be the happiest baby around and are just so much fun! You had croup at the beginning of the month. We are lucky we caught it early and got on steroids for a few days, and had no issues at all with it. It is good to see you building an immune system but tough to see you get sick! Mom and Dad both caught your germs and ended up on medicine too! You are eating one meal a day at the table with us. You are Mr. Independent who wants to feed himself, and make a huge mess, so we are limiting it to once a day. You eat squash, carrots, avocado, and sweet potato. Sometime this month you started sleeping like a big boy, we don’t rock you to sleep anymore you’re able to put yourself to sleep in your crib! I’ll miss rocking you to sleep at night but it’s great to see you sleep on your own! We had two trips to the beach this month, probably our last of the summer. We celebrated Daddy’s first Father’s Day this month. He was sick so we let him celebrate in bed all day! At 28 weeks you started doing the cutest backwards butt scoot. You aren’t crawling yet but you are able to get around by rolling and scooting. You can sit pretty well unassisted now, you topple over after a bit so we are still close by. We celebrated the Fourth of July at the beach this month also. It’s always been a special time with lots of celebration going on at the coast, but for the second year in a row everything was cancelled because of Covid. Town was pretty quiet, and it was just us. We did continue our family tradition of dressing up in patriotic attire. We are looking forward to the years to come when it’s safe to celebrate with everyone again. It is so special to continue years of traditions with you! We love you big little one!

21 weeks you’re very interested in Bertie now!

21 weeks – painting at school

This has been a big month again! We went back to the doctor for your four month old shots when you were 18 weeks old! You were just over 16 pounds and 24 inches long. Growing like crazy! You started day care this month at 20 weeks old. Due to Covid we aren’t able to go inside the school, we’ve never seen your classroom except on Zoom and we met your teacher on Zoom also. It was a bit stressful at first to leave you somewhere we were so unfamiliar with. I’m happy to report we are loving daycare so far. Your teachers Ms. Brittney and Ms. Tamara are wonderful. We have an app that they are constantly updating with pictures and information throughout the day that helps us feel connected! You had your first sickness; after your first week of daycare you came home with a fever and tummy problems. Even though you may have been a little under the weather, you have really blossomed in the first few weeks of daycare. You tolerate tummy time much better, are playing like a champ with all of your toys, and becoming more and more social with the teachers and the other children. Dadima and Pop Pop are still at our house helping get you adjusted to daycare, they have loved spending so much time with you and will be so sad to go home to their house next week. We’ve seen lots of friends and family this month and it has been wonderful to see you interacting with them. You are quite the smiling social little one! You still love going for your daily stroller rides and you love bath time. You have become more interested in Bertie this month, you even pulled her hair once or twice. She has been so patient with you. We’ve had some highs and lows with your sleep this month, but all in all I think we are very lucky that you sleep well. Right now you’re sleeping from 8 pm until 6 am on a good night, and then occasionally still nap after your morning feeding. You still don’t nap too well during the day, 15 minutes here and there for a power nap. We think you’re afraid to miss out on the action. And on your five month birthday you rolled over for the first time! We love you big little one! It’s hard to believe our next update you will be a half a year old!
